Employment & Coaching Opportunities

  • At this time, we are in need of a Field Groomer for Spring and Fall 2017 softball seasons to prepare the softball fields for play (approximately 8 months).  As much as four days a week, the fields needed for play on a particular day will be dragged, lined and otherwise prepared for play.  Position pays $9-$10 per hour (based on experience) and hours are flexible.  Must be flexible to work around the weather when necessary.

  • Northwest Ottawa Recreation Authority is always looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in teaching children sports and physical activities to keep healthy.  Most NORA classes are offered after school at GHAPS building locations.  Class sizes are usually manageable in size for one instructor.  NORA offers instructional classes in soccer, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, cross-country, track and field, ballet, and many others.  Head instructors are typically paid $10 per class hour.

Head coaches with NORA sometimes opted for $300 paid (some coaches have volunteered their time) for the season per team.  It is also the responsibility of the coach to help to secure sponsors and organize fundraisers to offset the funding of the sport.
