APPLICATION
VOLUNTEER ASSESSMENT (Background Check)

Northwest Ottawa Recreation Authority is always looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in coaching middle school students in the following sports:
  • Soccer, Boys - Fall - Head Coach & Assistant Coach
  • Soccer, Girls - Spring - Assistant Coach
  • Baseball - Spring - Assistant Coach
  • Softball - Spring - Assistant Coaches for 2 teams
  • Lacrosse - Spring - Assistant Coaches for 2 teams
  • Cheerleading - Fall - Winter I - Head Coach & Assistant Coach

  1. Coaching for fall sports is a commitment from September thru October (September thru December for Cheer).
  2. Coaching for winter sports is a commitment from December thru February.
  3. Coaching for spring sports is a commitment from mid-March thru May.
Typically 5 days a week (games and practices), after school, with minimal weekends for a few of the games and tournaments.  

Head coaches with NORA sometimes opted for $300 pay (some coaches have volunteered their time) for the season per team.  It is also the responsibility of the coach to help to secure sponsors and organize fundraisers to offset the funding of the sport. Email to learn more details.  nora@ghaps.org
